Lebanon Vulnerability Assessment Panel Survey

Year: 2020
Country: Lebanon
Subject: Living Conditions and Poverty
Client: World Bank

By the beginning of 2020, Lebanon’s economic crisis was expected to have far-reaching and potentially disastrous consequences on households’ economic well-being. Reliable high-frequency data became critical to monitor the effects of the crisis, as well as to inform the design and impact assessment of any mitigating efforts undertaken by Lebanon’s government.

In that context, as the World Bank decided to conduct a high-frequency national panel household survey to generate evidence for regular, quick assessment of the evolving economic and social situation, it requested technical support from Sistemas Integrales. The study, which is to consist of an in-person baseline survey followed by a series of phone-based follow-up measurements across the national territory, had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 disease that reached pandemic status by March 2020.

Sistemas Integrales’ responsibilities, which will resume when the survey’s overall activities resume, include the sampling design, training of interviewers, quality assurance, and quality control activities.
