PHONE-BASED SURVEYS

We design and execute phone-based surveys worldwide following the highest international quality standards

With the COVID-19 pandemic and its mobility restrictions and social distance requirements, we have seen a surge in the need for phone-based surveys. During the pandemic, Sistemas Integrales has carried out numerous telephone surveys for various international agencies.

We design and execute phone-based surveys worldwide following the highest international quality standards. We always use local interviewers and have direct control over the survey design and implementation via ongoing online field management and supervision.

Our experience ensures high quality throughout the full survey cycle: sampling design, questionnaire development tailored for phone surveys, interviewer training and survey implementation.

Sampling for phone surveys is based on Random Digit Dialing (RDD), respondent data from a past face-to-face survey that collected phone numbers, or a combination of both.

The implementation of phone surveys is supported by TELSIA (Telephone Survey Integrated App), an in-house-developed CATI application for questionnaire management, automated administration of the sample and calls, plus ongoing online supervision. It can be used either in a central location or with interviewers working from home, with laptops, tablets, or cell phones.

Quality control is a key feature in all Sistemas Integrales surveys, including randomized audio supervision and monitoring of survey-specific aggregate quality indicators.

The randomized audio supervision is conducted through RAS, a self-developed application for auditing. Random parts of 100% of interviews are recorded and assessed by trained auditors to assure the accuracy of the data registered by the interviewers and compliance to protocols.

The aggregate quality indicators are based on data and paradata and are visualized within an online interactive dashboard. This allows the management team to identify various types of nonsampling errors and interviewer effects speedily and to act accordingly. The online dashboard is updated daily and is accessible to the client on an ongoing basis over the entire field period.
